Three seats on the Brentwood Board of Education will be open in April and three candidates have filed for the positions, so there will be no election.
The terms of Michelle Hassemer, Keith Rabenberg and Dan Williams expire in April. Hassemer and Rabenberg filed to run; Williams did not. Joe Hembree was off the board the past three years and will return.
Rabenberg has been on the board since 1996; this will be his seventh consecutive term. It will be Hassemer’s second term on the board. Williams served one term and did not file for a second.
It will be Hembree’s fourth term. He previously served three consecutive terms beginning in 2002. Hembree said in an email to 40 South News that he’s running to bring his experience and perspective to the board.
“I’ve been attending most of the meetings since I came off the board three years ago,” he said. “I feel like I’ve kept up with most issues and am ready to contribute again.”
