The building at 7401 Manchester Avenue in Maplewood (often called the former Monarch restaurant building), under renovation by developer David Schlafly, has its third tenant.
St. Louis-based Goebel & Co. Furniture, founded in 2011, is opening a retail storefront there, nextSTL reports. Goebel specializes in hand-made residential and commercial furniture.
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, The Libertine, 4 Hands Brewery and Washington University in Saint Louis all have Goebel furniture, according the nextSTL, Side Project Brewing and Side Project Cellar in Maplewood, also.
The Blue Duck restaurant opened in the building earlier this year. Chicago-based mStoner, a marketing firm specializing in educational institutions also plans to open an office there.
I would also agree with that. Always will be the old Katz store. Went to The Blue Duck for lunch last week and was looking at the floor. Was trying to remember the layout of it. Knew the soda fountain was on the east wall as you came in off of Manchester and there was a counter right behind it for misc. purchases.
Actually I would refer to the building as the old Katz drug store
