9 shoplifting arrests at Maplewood Commons December 3-8

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 2

  • A window of a parked vehicle was reported shattered in the 7400 block of Manchester.  An investigation revealed that someone entered the vehicle,
    however no property was stolen.  The incident occurred sometime between Nov. 18 and Dec. 2.
  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported in the area of Manchester and Hanley roads. While stopped at the intersection, the vehicle was rear-ended by a gold SUV.  The driver of the striking vehicle then fled east on Manchester failing to stop for the accident. No injuries were reported. Police are investigation the incident.

Tuesday, Dec. 3

  • A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. He was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

  • A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $200 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The suspect was also wanted by another agency on a failure to appear warrant.
  • A hunting blind was reported stolen from the backyard of a residence in the 3200 block of Edgar Avenue between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. .

Thursday, Dec. 5

  • A 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting alcohol from a Maplewood Commons business.

Friday, Dec. 6

  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported in the 3500 block of S. Big Bend. A parked vehicle was struck by a maroon in color Ford Taurus which subsequently left the scene.
  •  A property damage to a vehicle was reported on 12-6-13 in the 3300 block of Greenwood.  The reporting party advised suspect(s) unknown punctured a tire on his vehicle.
  • A 27 year old male was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.  He was also found to be in possession of suspected heroin at the time of his arrest.

Saturday, Dec. 7

  • A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $135 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police responded to the 2400 block of Laclede Station for a disturbance call. An investigation revealed that a male and woman had been arguing. No arrests or charges were made.

Sunday, Dec. 8

  • A 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 51-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $113 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
