The city of Richmond Heights and the Richmond Heights Historical Society plan to dedicate the Ashe-Hudlin Park on Sunday, April 15 at 3 p.m.

The new park, northeast of 1221 Laclede Station Road, honors tennis great Arthur Ashe and his coach Richard Hudlin, as well as the Bennett Avenue Historic District.

The park was completed in February to create a welcoming memorial at the corner of the grounds where a young Arthur Ashe once practiced. With two benches, native landscaping, and a colorful plaque, the park is intended to complement the historic neighborhood and remind future generations of the significance of the area.

A reception will follow at The Heights. The ceremony will be held at The Heights in case of inclement weather.
