A Maplewood man died in a one-vehicle motor accident Sunday afternoon in rural Pike County, Missouri, according to the Hannibal Courier-Post.
James L. Hofmeister, 56, was driving a 2006 Ford F250 on U.S. 54 when his truck went off the north side of the highway and hit a mailbox, then a tree, officers said.
Hofmeister was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
