Lighting was possibly the cause of a fire at Southern Graphic Systems Inc., at 1035 Hanley Industrial Court, in Brentwood around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Multiple fire departments responded.
According to an employee, the approximately 80 employees evacuated the building safely to their designated areas on the parking lot. One told Brentwood Fire Chief Ted Jury she saw lightning strike near the building and heard a loud pop. Smoke was seen coming from behind a wall after the strike. Fire damage was contained behind a wall, though smoke and water damage is likely.
