German immigrants have been contributing to our nations industry, culture and tradition for over 300 years. Missouri has benefited as well since the beginning of her Statehood. Come hear what brought these thousands of emigrants as Dorris Keeven-Franke shares personal stories that tell us why our ancestors loved Missouri.
There were as many reasons to emigrate as there were immigrants, and as we examine the history of Germans in Missouri we find a better understanding of what each of our own ancestors experienced.
Dorris Keeven-Franke is the Executive Director of the Missouri Germans Consortium, and editor of Der Anzeiger.
