The gas station at the corner of Big Bend and Laclede Station in Webster Groves is set to be replaced with an Energy Express convenience store, offering Phillips 66 products, open 24 hours a day with beer and wine offered 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. according to city records.

The owner, Energy Marketing, owned by the Madras family, is redeveloping the site.

The previous, smaller convenience store will be replaced with a 4,012 square foot building in approximately the same location. There were formerly three pumps; there will be five when completed.

According to city records the average “trip generation” for each pump island during a weekday is 542.6 trips. The additional two pumps should then add 1,085 trips per weekday, however the new QuikTrips at Manchester and Big Bend, and on S. Hanley across from Home Depot have drawn some traffic from the location.
