The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Friday, Dec. 20
- A 61-year-old woman was arrested for disturbing the peace and failure to comply stemming from a loud music call
police responded to at a residence in the 2800 block of Laclede Station Road. - A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with trespassing after police responded to the 2000 block of Yale Avenue for a violation of a protection order call. This incident was also related to an incident on Dec. 18.
- A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $205 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
- Two men, a 19-year-old and a 26-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $300 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The 26-year-old man was also charged with resisting arrest and failure to comply. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
- A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from a Maplewood Commons business.
- A 17-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
Saturday, Dec. 21
- A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $295 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
- A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $250 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. He was also charged with providing false information to an officer after providing identification of another individual at the time of the arrest.
- A 27-year-old man was issued a summons for soliciting without a permit in the 3200 block of Laclede Station Road. Officers encountered this same subject the day before in the area at which time he was given a verbal warning. He returned to the area on Dec. 21 and committed the same offense.
- A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing nearly $300 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
- Police responded to a Maplewood Commons business in reference to a larceny in progress. The male suspect fled the business on foot with the stolen merchandise upon officers’ arrival. He was apprehended a short time later in the 2300 block of S. Hanley Road. Scott Furkin, 24, of Columbia, Illinois, was charged with Stealing – 3rd offense (class D Felony) and felony resisting/interfering with arrest through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. His bond was set at $25, 000.
- Two female suspects attempted to steal approximately $1000 in electronics from a Maplewood Commons business. They fled the business prior to police arrival. Police have since identified the female suspects and are attempting to locate them.
Saturday, Dec. 22
- A vehicle was broken into between 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 and 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 22 in the 7500 block of Ellis Avenue. A car stereo was stolen.
