Maplewood wins green recognition

The City of Maplewood was recognized on Friday for achievements in the 2015 St. Louis Green Business Challenge, specifically as a participant in the pilot Green Cities Challenge group, Missouri Botanical Gardens employee, Jean Ponzi said.

In the photo below, (left to right) Jean Ponzi worked with Maplewood and the other cities and participants in the challenge as resource adviser. Rachelle L’Ecuyer is the Maplewood Director of Community Development. Maplewood resident, Nick Frisella, serves on the Maplewood Sustainability Commission; he also works for Metro Lighting. Ralph Bicknese also serves on the sustainability commission – his architecture firm, Hellmuth & Bicknese, is based in Maplewood.

Frisella and Bicknese made contributions through the sustainability commission to get both the EPA Green Power Challenge and the St. Louis Regional Chamber’s St. Louis Green Business recognitions.
