Maplewood resident, Eileen P. Duggan will sign copies of her new novel, The Not-Ready-for-Juilliard Players, at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at the Maplewood Public Library (7550 Lohmeyer Avenue), Duggan has announced.
Her novel, published by Rocking Horse Publishing, follows four music majors at a Midwestern community college, where a manipulative professor tries to spin average students into late-blooming Juilliard-bound prodigies. The friends reunite a decade later when the professor is murdered.
She also will discuss “The Piano and the Pen,” the connections between musicians and writers.
Duggan is a freelance writer, editor, journalist and piano teacher. A former editor of the West End Word, she has written for several St. Louis-based and national publications including the St. Louis Journalism Review and the South County Times. She holds a bachelor’s degree in piano pedagogy and has written music reviews for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and a music column for the West End Word.
