Maplewood police reported on Wednesday that on May 31 the department received information from an eye witness that a family friend possessed child pornography. The department investigated and a search warrant was executed on the suspect’s residence where he was apprehended and later confessed to having large amounts of child pornography.
Michael Nelson Minter, 33, of the 2000 block of Bellevue Avenue, was charged with possession of child pornography, first offense.
The investigation was presented to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office where they issued a warrant, however even though warrants have been issued the investigation is ongoing as numerous computers, mobile devices and DVD/CDs are being analyzed for evidence.
