The Big Sleep, written in 1939, is a hardboiled crime novel by Raymond Chandler, and the first to feature detective Philip Marlowe. We will have several copies available for checkout and then will watch the film on the date given above. After watching the movie, we will have a brief discussion to see if the movie lived up to the book or if it was better.
