Work has begun on improvements to Sutton Loop Park. The plan will add a sidewalk and additional plantings around the perimeter of the park, and leave the large center area untouched, according to an employee with Ideal Landscaping on the site on Thursday. He said it will take about two months, weather permitting.
If you are calling it a “park” why cut down the trees?
Haven’t you noticed? Ironically, the city of MAPLEwood loves to cut down mature trees. A few people in City Hall seem to have an irrational fear of them falling down. Maybe there’s some sort of childhood trauma involved. But seriously – I agree with you. It’s a shame to cut down any tree, much less one in a green space.
take a look at the trees they are taking down. They are in bad shape.
This is going to be perfect to take Girl Scouts for their photo badge that they work on at AmberSky! Super excited!!
I would have waited until after Taste of Maplewood to start the work, and have that space available to people.
So pleased that we’re going to keep the ‘green space.’ Perfect!
Man, some outdoor ping pong tables would have been nice…
interesting thought Jonathan. Where would you think they would fit into the plan?
