The Brentwood Fire Department held an open house and barbecue lunch to show off its new rescue-pumper truck on Saturday. The weather was perfect and a large crowd showed up.
Fire Chief Ted Jury said the new truck was designed from the wheels up.
“Every compartment on this truck is utilized for some piece of equipment.” He said the single biggest issue in designing the truck was safety for the firefighters. He said the department’s pumper trucks are on a ten-year rotation, so the new truck will be the front line truck for ten years, then be the reserve for 10 years.
