The opening date for the new QuikTrip in Maplewood is “solid,” according to the company’s St. Louis real estate manager, Alan Renner.

June 5 was the expected day in early May, and as of Friday, that still holds. Renner said QuikTrip’s operational team is now in the store getting it ready.

Owner of the corner, Dan Lesseg, said QuikTrip always opens their stores on Thursdays. A Maplewood Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting will be held at 8 a.m. that morning.

Correction: This article previously stated the opening would be June 6. Lesseg notified 40 South News with the correction.

  1. From what I can see, Quik Trip would have enough customers to keep both stores going, if they left the old one open.

  2. Unfortunatley, we, can do nothing. Its up to the land owner. If I remember correctly, back when all this started, QT said if unable to lease it out, they’d transform it to a green space

  3. Now what do we do with the old store ?
I am pretty sure QT will not sell it to another gas and convenience store operation.
    Any ideas anyone ?

      • Considering the closest In-N-Out Burger to St. Louis is in Dallas, Texas, I highly doubt the business would decide to open their first restaurant in the Midwest on an obscure site in Maplewood, Missouri. One can dream, I guess, but likely we should set out sights a little lower. What about a Dunkin Donuts? I just hope it’s not another auto parts store or something else like that.

        • Oh no. We need to dream big. What that corner needs isn’t a crummy burger joint but the first Midwest Legal Sea Foods!

  4. As a former QT employee, I’m excited to see the new “Gen 3” store open! It provides a facelift for the Manchester/Big Bend intersection, and should be a great addition to Maplewood in general.
