Maplewood resident, Andrew Flynn, will be running the 2017 NYC Marathon on November 5 in support of UNICEF, his wife, Rebecca Flynn says.
She said Andrew served in the Peace Corps in Chad 1995-1997, and is raising funds for the work that UNICEF does with children in Africa.
Andrew says on his fundraiser page: “I’ll be running my first NYC Marathon for a worthy cause that is very important to me and vital to millions of children throughout the world. Please donate whatever you can to this campaign.”
He says forty years ago UNICEF figured out that promoting simple, low-cost interventions like hand washing and breastfeeding could save millions of lives.
Andrew and Rebecca live in Maplewood on Maple Ave. She is an English teacher at the MRH High School; they have one child at MRH Elementary and one at the high school.
To contribute to Andrew’s marathon to support UNICEF.
