Maplewood police have arrested a carjacker who held women at gunpoint in Maplewood in July. The suspect left his cellphone in his victim’s car, which was abandoned in Ferguson, police told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Joseph Hill, 23, was charged on Nov. 22 with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. He is being held in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail in the July 30 carjacking.

Maplewood Police Detective Erika Estes told the Post-Dispatch that two more men — accomplices — are still on the loose. Police know the identity of one of them and have secured an at-large warrant.

Hill is accused of being among three hooded men who held women at gunpoint briefly July 30 during a carjacking outside an apartment building in the 7200 block of Southwest Avenue, Estes said.
