One alderman from each of Brentwood’s four wards will be elected in the April 5, 2016 municipal election. Ward 3 Alderman Andy Leahy is running for re-election, and sent the following to 40 South News for publication:

Alderman Andrew Leahy wishes to say THANK YOU to the residents of Ward 3 for allowing him the privilege to serve you in the past years as Alderman.
With your continued support Alderman Leahy announces that he will be seeking a seventh term as Alderman for Ward 3 in the upcoming election on April 5, 2016.
Alderman Leahy has consistently worked to serve the residents of Brentwood and Ward 3. He has hosted the Ward 3 meetings that take place each month in an effort to improve communications with the residents over the last 16 years. These informal gatherings offer the residents the opportunity to bring forward issues, questions, and concerns to Alderman Leahy and to learn what is happening within their community. Discussions have included trash hauling, city budget, police patrols, neighborhood upkeep, Hanley Road TDD, Brentwood Rec Center, comprehensive plan, employee compensation and 4-year terms being changed back to 2-year terms.
Over the years Andy has served on the Public Safety, Ways and Means, Public Works and Waste Committees as well as the 353 Commission. He completed the Brentwood Citizen’s Police Academy, CERT and has worked with the Brentwood National Night Out Against Crime Committee for the past sixteen years. He also has completed the Emergency Management Training program NIMS.
Alderman Leahy is an active member of St. Mary Magdalen Church and has worked with the Boy Scouts of America for a total of 43 years. He resides at 2833 Manderly Drive with his wife Sue. You may contact him at 314-962-2318 or via email at [email protected].
