Brentwood Ward 4 Alderman Tom Kramer, a long-time proponent of repairing the bumps and holes in Brentwood Boulevard, reported on Nextdoor.com on Feb. 11 that it might be resurfaced in this year.
He sent the update to 40 South News Tuesday, saying there’s no change since February that he knows of.
“We did receive word that St. Louis County was possibly going to receive grant funds that could allow them to squeeze us in for 2014,” Kramer said. He said it would include a full mill and overlay of fresh asphalt. He added, “It’s still a maybe.”
He said there is “definitely” funding for 2015, late spring. “We should have had it at least a couple years ago. He said the county experimented with a micro-surface which turned out to be defective.
“At the minimum, they will (hot) re-patch holes, and repaint black the old orange and white lane markers that keep reappearing from the subsurface, this spring,” Kramer said.
He said readers of the Brentwood Forest newsletter, ForestLine know he’s been working on this for years.
Tom…Thanks for staying on top of this, I hope it does go this year.
Yes he’s been working on this for years. I saw him out there last fall with a paint roller re-striping the road. Thanks Tom!
