Maplewood Richmond Heights junior volleyball player, Abby Kaufman, has been named a St. Louis Post-Dispatch Athlete of the Week; that’s a week after MRH junior cross country runner was named for the honor.
Kaufman led the Blue Devils to wins over conference rivals Crossroads and Brentwood, helping them go undefeated (10-0) in clinching their first SCAA conference championship since 2005, the Post-Dispatch reported.
She served a perfect 47 of 47 for the week, earning 35 points. She had eight kills against Brentwood.
MRH finished the regular season at 22-1 and is the top seed in their upcoming Class 2 District 4 tournament at Carnahan High School, beginning Oct. 23.
