12 bars, 4 charities, 1 heck of a party. On June 28, merrymakers will hop on trolleys and tootle around the best bars of Clayton for a day of fun with a philanthropic twist- helping local nonprofits.

Participants  pick their charity of choice and join the afternoon soiree as a member of that nonprofit’s “team.” In addition to making a donation to the charity, pub crawlers receive an official team t-shirt and matching tote bag, shuttle pass for the day, and drink specials at all 12 bars.

The APA enters the pub crawl as the newcomer. More than 20 nonprofits applied to be the fourth selected charity in the event, and, after receiving the most votes in a Facebook contest, the APA won its spot alongside some big names. Also participating are the Ronald McDonald House, Hope for Young Adults with Cancer, and Autism Speaks to Young Professionals.

The highly coveted nature of the charity slots is due to the popularity of the event, which has raised more than $45,000 for local nonprofits since December 2012. The June 28 pub crawl will be the fourth one of its kind, and it runs from noon-5:00 p.m. that afternoon. Tickets can be purchased at www.12barsofclayton.com.
