Building owner San Slavin said Studio:art co-op, at 7403 Manchester Road, has closed due to a family situation.
He said they’re still paying rent, but the space is available. He said there’s a chance that Escape From St. Louis, which is next door, could expand into the space.
Slavin also owns the building at the end of the block where Craft Beer Cellar is working toward occupying. Maplewood officials took the first steps to approve the shop on Tuesday.
He said in addition to one more council meeting required to amend the ordinance allowing them into the special business district, the conditional use permit will take two more meetings after that.
