Brentwood and Maplewood Richmond Heights basketball teams are heading into district tournaments this weekend with winning records.
The Eagles boys finished the regular season at 14-9. They play Lift for Life (7-13) on Feb. 18 to kick off their Class 3 District 5 playoffs. Brentwood enters the tournament seeded number 4. Lift for Life is seeded 5. The tournament is at Metro High School.
Recently Brentwood’s Cade Jones was nominated for the KNFS High School Athlete of the Month for his 66 points, 33 rebounds, seven assists and six steals in three games. Against Orchard Farm on Wednesday Jones scored 25 in a 71-54 Eagles win. See the box score at St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The Brentwood girls (17-10) begin their district tournament, also on Feb. 18 at Metro High School, against Carnahan (3-7).
The MRH boys go into the tournament seeded number 3 with a 10-13 record. The Blue Devils will play Gateway Science Charter (9-12), seeded 6, also on Feb. 18. See the Class 3 District 5 bracket.
There wasn’t an MRH girls basketball team this year, due to lack of interest, according to the school. Only four athletes were available to play.
