St. Louis County has informed the city of Maplewood that work on Big Bend Boulevard between Manchester Road and Laclede Station Road is scheduled to begin in November and be completed in spring 2017, weather permitting.
According to the information from the county: The work will include removal and replacement of deteriorated and/or damaged pavement, curb, sidewalk, the addition of concrete bus stop pads and pavement surfacing and texturing.
The work performed will generally take place between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays — milling and paving may take place at night.
Lane restrictions will be in place at various times and locations.
Several driveways may be removed and replaced. Homeowners will be notified at least 24 hours in advance. Every attempt will be made to have access again to the driveway within three days.
This project is funded by federal and county funds and will be accomplished without additional direct cost to taxpayers.
Big Bend is a St.Louis County road ! I think you need to call Pat Dolan your District 5 County Councilmen and ask him. 314-615-5441
We need our City Hall representatives to give us an answer about when the county will redo the stretch of Big Bend between Manchester and Highway 40!
It needs to be redone properly. No more thin recovering that only lasts a year or so!
That stretch of Big Bend is horrible and so many people use it every day that a patch job is not going to work, and our vehicles are suffering the consequences.
I would like to comment that Brentwood Blvd between Manchester and Highway 40 was finally completed resurfacing this past summer. And now the utilities companies are tearing it up already! There are already new potholes and steel plates on the road! Traffic heading north during rush hour is a nightmare! Why spend millions of dollars on a project that will soon be torn up again?
Did I miss a comment period for this work? Do we know if the county is taking any of the traffic calming recommendations from Maplewood’s walk-audit into consideration?
what about big bend north from manchester to highway 40? that stretch has been through a war!
Amen! This has been needed for years. My car’s suspension will be happy…
