Wednesday’s storm, accompanied by winds of up to 70 mph, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, brought down wires, trees and limbs throughout the area.
As of 8 a.m. on Thursday there were still 157 without power in Richmond Heights, 74 out in Maplewood and 780 in Brentwood, according to Ameren UE.
Brentwood, Maplewood and Richmond Heights city departments haven’t reported any serious damage.
The city of Richmond Heights has announced it will provide a special, one time pick-up of storm debris for residents on Monday, July 18. Debris to be picked up needs to be no longer than five feet, and stacked with the ends facing the street. It does not need to be bundled or bagged. If placed at the curb sooner than the 18th, crews will try to pick it up sooner.

I was driving in Glendale and Crestwood at the end of the storm. With all the trees down, taking power lines and closing streets, I’ve having second thoughts about my now former appreciation for tree-lined streets.
All the sycamores need to go! They are either dropping limbs, leaves, bark or seed balls.
