A former employee of Kakao Chocolate, who disappeared March 30, has been found. Barge workers found the remains of Gift Kamau floating in the Mississippi River on Saturday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Madison Police Chief Chris Burns said they found a suicide note. She was last seen, from surveillance camera video, walking across the Chain of Rocks Bridge around noon on March 30. She left behind her cellphone, bank cards and cash.
On the Kakao Chocolate Facebook page: “All of us at Kakao thank you all for the love and support you continue to share with us. We will all miss Gift.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help her family and to help cover funeral expenses, which are estimated at $15,000.
