Maplewood resident Brad Jackson has filed a second law suit against the city of Maplewood. It’s in Missouri case.net, case number 25SL-CC03975.

Jackson filed a suit in August last year against the city of Maplewood; Maplewood Mayor Barry Greenberg; Kate Bethel, owner of Maven Bath and Candle Co., and Isaac Chosich, an employee at Maven.

The recent suit claims that the city’s response to Jackson’s Sunshine requests were late and incomplete.

Jackson, in an email to 40 South, said the suit is, “simply a civil lawsuit against the City of Maplewood for violating Missouri’s Sunshine Law (Chapter 610, RSMo) by refusing to produce public records as required by law.”

Per the petition, Jackson requested  “all documents, audio recordings, video recordings, email correspondences, text messages, internal notes, and memoranda between any members of the City Council, including Mayor Barry Greenberg, concerning Kate Bethel
and her Ethics Complaint against Brad Jackson.”

The same “between any members of the City Council, including Mayor Barry Greenberg, concerning Brad Jackson and his Ethics Complaint against Mayor Greenberg.”

And also “between Mayor Barry Greenberg and any members of the Maplewood Police Department from June 7, 2024 to the present concerning Brad Jackson.”

  1. There’s a total of three, maybe four people making every comment here under a fake name.

40 South, you should do something about that.

The defendants in this case are being sued for defamation. They continue this defamation in the comments here, because they know they are anonymous.

  2. Desperate attempts to get a settlement out of the city to pay his ambulance chasing attorneys who probably only get paid if he does.

    • I would love to know why Mayor Greenberg would send information about one person involved in an ethics complaint to the opposing person involved in the ethics complaint.
      From his city email account.
Perhaps we should be questioning the mayor about his poor judgement.

      • You do know Jackson started allll of this when he maliciously filed an ethics complaint against a sitting council member who was cleared of any wrongdoing.

He literally did this days after sexually exploiting her on the Maplewood FB FB page from where he was promptly banned.

But keep spinning your absolute nonsense defending the indefensible.

      • Everything has been requested and delivered. This lawsuit has nothing to do with the mayor!

      • Neth, that part.

It’s clearly the mayor’s supporters continuing his campaign against Jackson. The irony that they called anybody else sycophants…

      • I think we all just need to calm down and have a delicious donut to support our local businesses ♥️

  3. That is a huge request for some aspects that would not be under the sunshine law, I believe? Suits only go forward that are public documents? Hmmm…

    • The cost to Maplewood taxpayers here is ridiculous and just keeps mounting! Seems like someone is trying to bankrupt our city and it’s not the mayor.

  4. The part where it says the mayor knew about Jackson’s arrest “in peculiar detail” is very interesting.

It sounds like there’s some tea about to spill.

    • You mean the arrest that the plaintiff himself posted to social media? The change happened last year at the ballot box-sorry if you don’t like the outcome. If you think the plaintiff here is a model of good citizenship and has this city’s best interests in mind, you are in a VERY small minority. This is sleazy, self-serving political tricks and the plaintiff is likely not operating alone here…also-FYI-he was arrested for a VALID reason as much as that pains you to admit. Actions matter.

    • change happened last year in a fair democratic election-and isn’t it funny that there hasn’t been peace in this town since? Pretty sure the plaintiff posted details of his legal/valid arrest on FB himself. But by all means, let’s distract and deflect-there most certainly is “tea” to spill but most of us are sure it’s not about this nonsense.

Gee-wonder how HE seems to know so much about the inner workings of city hall processes esp with regard to lawsuits and payouts-almost as if someone who used to be privvy to all that might be guiding or coaching him on this at OUR expense….hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    • Several warrants on case net, driving around with expired tags and no insurance. Sounds really “peculiar”.

      • It’s lunacy-this town is once again a laughingstock of idiocy and slacktivism. Heaven’s Gate for dimwits.

      • How do you people know all of this man’s business? It’s so strange, outsider looking in. It feels dangerously obsessive.

        • Because he posts all over Facebook publicly.

          And there is a saying:
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

He is definitely an enemy of Maplewood

      • This part of the thread is literally all the defendants. 😂

That’s how they know, Sarah. They’re obsessed with him.

  5. This seems to be an invasion of privacy. Any personal comments, not related to the person who is filing, should not be made available to that person.

  6. If BradvJackson loses is he he going to reimburse the city of Maplewood for our tax money he is wasting?

    • This situation will likely cost the city much more than just this, but according to the evidence, that blame belongs to the mayor.

      • Guess the court will decide, but the mayor isn’t the one with 20 plus casenet entries and a literal history of bullying, lying, evading paying property taxes, harassing city council members, etc. It’s soooo telling that cult members continue to defend this person regardless. He’s literally weaponized the local legal system against anyone who dares criticize him. Grotesque sycophants.

        • So, if the court decides in his favor, then we’ll know if was all true. What will that mean for you, Kate Bethel?

          What for Isaac?

Will the two of you take public accountability? Will Don Miller admit he was wrong?

Will Barry resign, and make a publuc apology? Face criminal charges for political malfeasance?

These are the questions Maplewood wants to know the answers to. Not your weird, obsessive deflection.

A lot of us are just his friends. Our kids go to school together. We talk. We’ve seen a lot of this with our own eyes. We’re not cult members, but I suppose that can be hard to understand for people who bond over mutual hate.

I’d suggest growing up, but I think it would probably take a court order to enforce that. You’re all embarrassing yourselves.

      • How does the blame belong on the mayor? This lawsuit is nothing to do with the mayor. He is personally attacking our city manager along with other employees of the city.
