Gina Gibbons, who served as acting library director since August 2017 following the retirement of Vicki Woods, has been named director of the Brentwood Public Library.
According to a Jan. 25 release from the city, Gibbons joined the Brentwood Public Library staff in 2007. She was previously an assistant supervisor at a St. Louis County Library branch following nine years in the bookmobile department.
“I have always enjoyed working with the public and I also enjoy a good book, children’s and adult titles equally,” Gibbons said.
“When I started working for the Brentwood Library, I knew I had found the right place for me. This community is welcoming, increasingly diverse, and the people who frequent the library become like family. I love how tightly knit this community is. My greatest hope is that the library fosters and contributes the same qualities in return.
