Curbs along Brentwood Boulevard were scheduled to be repaired before the road is resurfaced in 2015, and repairs are on track, Ward 4 Alderman Tom Kramer reported, by request, in an email to 40 South News Tuesday.
“The current faulty micro surface is on its final legs,” Kramer said.
The road took a beating when Interstate 64/40 traffic was diverted there about five years ago.
Kramer said the first phase includes concrete work, including ADA ramp additions on all sidewalks.
Eager Road from I-170 to Hanley Road, and Brentwood Boulevard from I-64 to approximately Marshall Place will be included. Kramer said the project is fully funded.
The curb work was projected to run from fall 2014 into spring 2015. He said there is a chance they’ll do it all, concurrently, in 2015.
“We’ve all waited long enough,” Kramer said. “With the repaving project itself slated to start spring/summer 2015, St. Louis County Roads and Highways staff has indicated that any more substantial repairs beyond moderate pothole infill are set to be rectified by the project itself.”
Kramer said the improvements should last 15-20 years before major work is needed again.
My car thanks you.
