Brentwood boys basketball won a tournament game at Valley Park Monday night against Confluence.

The Eagles beat confluence 54-47, led by Xavier Bratcher and Marc Powells, both with 11 points. Justice Bratcher had 10. The win puts the team in a Thursday game; the championship game is Friday.

The win was coach Brad Kern’s 100th game as an Eagle coach, according to the Brentwood Spirit.

“It’s a milestone of some sorts,” Kern said before the game. “I’ve been here long enough.”

Kern began coaching at Brentwood in 2005, beginning with a program that was 82-163 for the previous 10 seasons, with only one winning record, according to the Spirit.

His teams had losing records for the first three years, but posted winning seasons

four out of the past five years since then.
