Brentwood, Clayton, and Maplewood have collaborated to improve training to fire and emergency medical services personnel, and on Monday appointed a chief of training for a new program, according to the city of Clayton.

At a reception on Monday at the Brentwood Recreation Center, Clayton Captain Jason Hildebrandt was appointed the joint Battalion Chief of Training. The position will focus on creating a training program for each of the departments.

“We are proud to have collaborated with other local fire departments,” said Brentwood Fire Chief Terry Kurten. “The creation of the Battalion Chief of Training position is reflective of our mutual desire to provide the best services to our communities.”

Battalion Chief of Training Hildebrandt will serve as the centralized training records manager and will provide training programs and documentation needed for Fire Service and Emergency Medical Service accreditations, which each department is currently pursuing. The new position will also create a consistent and learning environment for the personnel of each department.
