Brentwood Fire Department begins activity reports

Brentwood Fire Chief Ted Jury said at the June Public Safety Committee meeting that the department would begin publishing weekly/monthly activity reports. The first one is out, and it can be found on the city website under the fire department tab.

According to the report, the department had 57 fire calls in 2014, and 30 for 2015, through May. The department also responded to calls related to explosions, rescues, hazardous conditions, false alarms, severe weather and others. The total calls for 2014 was 1835. The total through May 2015 is 650.

In 2014, the department responded to 10 structure fires in Brentwood and 24 out of town. Through May 2015 there have been five structure fire calls in Brentwood and 16 calls out of town.

Through May 2015, the average response time for the year, from dispatch to personnel on scene, for calls in Brentwood, is 4 minutes, 25 seconds for EMS, and 3 minutes, 46 seconds for fire only.
