According to a Brentwood Forest resident, last year the Brentwood Forest Board of Managers and office staff tried to disqualify a candidate for the association board who had won a seat in the election, seating another candidate who had fewer votes.

The board said Jeff Forrler had put out his campaign signs too early, seating Robert Bolay instead, according to a court document. Forrler took the board to court and won.

The Brentwood Forest board of managers spent $30,000 on the law suit according to the resident.

The resident called it “a total waste of the association members’ money.” He said, “If you read the by-laws, it is fairly clear that the board did not have the authority to disqualify this candidate.”

He said the residents deserve the right to know this information.
