Brentwood hosted Maplewood Richmond Heights for the first volleyball game of the season Monday, taking the match in two games.
The Eagles led the first game, and though MRH came within two points (16-18), Brentwood took game one 25-16.
The second game was tied at 8-8, then MRH led until Brentwood tied it again at 23-23 and went on to win 26-24.
MRH coach, Cheryl Carmon said she was proud of how they played.

Brentwood coach, Whitney Ralph said the Eagles’ serves were good when they made them.
“We had too many errors for my liking, but overall I think it was good,” she said.”
Ralph said senior Lauren Macy had a big night, especially serving. Also, “I’ll give our freshman, Caroline (Snare) a little credit. She handled the pressure pretty good for her first match.”
MRH plays Bayless at Hancock Middle School Tuesday. Brentwood hosts Lutheran North next on Sept. 5.
