The Brentwood and Maplewood Richmond Heights basketball teams split a double-header Tuesday at MRH.

First the Brentwood girls beat the Blue Devil girls 34-33 with a foul line throw with seconds remaining, then the MRH boys won over Brentwood 68-56 in the second feature. Apparently MRH boys head coach Corey Frazier wasn’t happy with the point spread, as he had the team stay for a 45-minute practice immediately following the game.

Brentwood sophomore Claudia Jones led the Eagles girls with 19; Junior Gracie Biedenstein led MRH with 13.

MRH junior Chris Blocker hit 12 for 16 from the field, with a total of 26; Brentwood senior Will Erby led the Eagles, also with 26.

Admission to the games — $587.14 — went to the American Red Cross to support victims of the 2013 typhoon in the Philippines.

Brentwood girls play at Confluence on Thursday, MRH girls play at home against Bayless on Friday.

Brentwood boys host Trinity on this Wednesday and the Blue Devil boys host #2-ranked Chaminade on Thursday.
