Brentwood Public Works and Planning and Zoning committees met Wednesday and discussed a full slate of issues including new signage guidelines and Lawn Care Equipment Co., Inc.’s request for site development on Manchester.
Aldermen on the Public Works committee approved several items, some of which will now be referred to the full Board of Alderman for approval including a bid for street resurfacing on four city streets, revised Affiliated Users Guidelines for the city’s public fields and facilities and changing public notification from letters to post cards.
A call for bid proposal to address some of the city’s sewer lateral issues will be put back out for bid due to a lack of response from contractors.
Later in the day, the Planning and Zoning Commission held its meeting and discussed Lawn Care Equipment Co. Inc.’s request for site plan approval. Lawn Care Equipment is seeking to move its business across Ruth Ave. where there is more space for customer parking. Lawn Care Equipment has operated in Brentwood for 34 years and is concerned about traffic on Ruth Ave. and the inconvenience it sometimes causes for residents.
After an hour of discussion, the commission tabled the request until September 10 to allow Lawn Care Equipment time to amend the official drawings and resubmit.
The commission also approved, with one change, an updated signage ordinance that more fully complies with a recent 8th Circuit Court decision.
The commission also nominated and voted in Michael Danning as chairman, David Dimmitt as vice-chairman and John Nuernberger as secretary.
I appreciate being recognized by piers on the P&Z Commission asking me to serve another year as Secretary. Congratulations to Mike Daming and David Dimmit for being selected to serve another year as Chairman and Vice Chairman. I think of my neighborhood as the City of Brentwood and I live in Ward 3. I can be found each month at city hall at our P&Z meetings if anyone would like to make comment on the record regarding my stance on any issue that comes before our commission. It is open to the public and there is always citizen input heard.
What is your name again Mr Completely, and what ward do you live in? I doubt that that will ever get that information as anonymity is comfortingly when calling someone out for a stance they strongly believe in.
John Nuernberger???? the guy who was so excited for the Boys Hope Girls Hope debacle to move into a residential neighborhood (not his neighborhood by the way) this should be interesting.
Why shouldn’t they have moved in there? Last time I checked, “residential neighborhood” means where human beings live, and I’m pretty sure those kids are humans.
