The Brentwood School District passed a test by the Missouri State Auditor’s office to see how well it complies with the Missouri Sunshine Law.
In August, Missouri Auditor Nicole Galloway’s office sent sent letters to 326 of the more than 4,100 public entities in Missouri asking for a copy of the minutes of the last meeting in 2015 and other basic pieces of information, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The letters were not sent on the state office letterhead, to provide a clearer picture of what an average citizen might experience when requesting information.
The Brentwood School District received the letter and responded in a timely manner and met all the criteria. Seventy percent of the government entities that got the letter failed to comply in some way.
The Brentwood Blvd/Clayton Rd Community Improvement District also received the letter and passed the test.
