The Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education released its 2015 report cards on the academic health of Missouri school districts with its Annual Performance Reports (APR) Friday, and the Brentwood School District topped the St. Louis area with a 99.3 percent score.
The Maplewood Richmond Heights district also received very high honors with a 98.2, which marks a 4.6 percent increase from the 2014 score of 93 percent and a 9.6 percent increase from two years ago.
Brentwood’s score is up from 97.5 in 2014, but down from its perfect 100 in 2013. See the scores for all schools statewide.
According to the MRH School District, superintend Karen Hall commented, “This score is not only an achievement for MRH, but a success for our entire community. It is only with the support and resources from our community that allows us to maintain small classes, give our students personalized and differentiated instruction, and tools they need to grow both academically and personally.”
The Missouri Department of Education, the APR outlines performance based on five standards for K-12 districts and charter schools:
- Academic achievement
- Subgroup achievement (includes students receiving free/reduced price lunch, African American and Hispanic students, English Language Learners and students with disabilities)
- High school readiness (K-8 districts) and College and Career Readiness (K-12 districts)
- Attendance rate
- Graduation rate (K-12 districts)
