Restaurants set to open in Maplewood and Richmond Heights in 2018 are generating excitement in local news. Elmwood, to open in May, according to the Riverfront Times, and Del Pietro’s in Richmond Heights in late January, have been covered.
Adam Altnether, chef and co-owner of the planned Elmwood, at Manchester and Sutton, told the RFT: “A big thing for us is that there is no pretense. We don’t want you walking in and feeling uncomfortable because you think it’s too fancy or you feel underdressed or that the menu confuses you.” He also said: “If it’s delicious, we will cook it.”
St. Louis Magazine and Feast named Elmwood and Del Pietro’s in their list of most anticipated restaurants for 2018. Del Pietro’s is set to open at 1059 South Big Bend at the former Riverbend Restaurant & Bar and Harvest location.
Michael Del Pietro Jr., son of Del Pietro’s owners on Hampton (now closed), is set to open his own Del Pietro’s in early 2018.
