In a write-in only race for Maplewood’s Ward 1 C Wiley defeated Marie Long by 173 to 90 votes on Tuesday. Wiley posted on their campaign Facebook page (imogees not included here).
WE DID IT MAPLEWOOD!
I’m beyond honored to share that according to unofficial results, I’ve been elected to represent Ward 1 on Maplewood City Council, winning 62% of the vote.
To every neighbor who showed up, spread the word, and cast a ballot: THANK YOU. Your support, belief, and energy made this moment possible. This campaign was about building a stronger, more inclusive community together. A Maplewood where queer and trans youth are safe and seen, where young families that look like mine have a representation, and where housing and economic opportunity are accessible to all.
Now, it’s time to get to work
Thank you, Maplewood. Let’s build the future that includes everyone.
— C Wiley
