Brentwood Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald made these posts on his informational website, The Chief’s Desk.
Tuesday, June 3, at about 11:49 a.m. we received a call for a leaving the scene of an accident at Dierbergs, 8450 Eager Road. The owner of a gray Toyota Sequoia told our officer that his vehicle had been struck while he was inside the store. Evidence at the scene indicates a white vehicle may have struck the vehicle. If you may have witnessed this accident, please notify our department at 644-7100.
Monday, June 2, at 4:40 p.m. our officers were called to a business in the 1600 block of Hanley Road for a shoplifter. A 44-year-old man was arrested for stealing. He had taken assorted tools.
This Saturday is the BBQ for Backstoppers, and is sponsored by our police and fire departments. The event will be held on the north parking lot of City Hall at 2348 Brentwood Bloulevard from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. We will serve pork steaks, brats, hamburgers and hot dogs, along with sides. Please stop by and support a great cause. All proceeds go to Backstoppers: www.backstoppers.org.
Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
As an animated poster against the outsourcing of our dispatchers–the implementation of Chief Fitzgerald’s blog is a real wave of relief. With our in-house dispatchers, residents always felt like the FR’s were right with us. There was a broadly felt sense of being left in a glut call center that has been cited for seriously bad errors–not a lot of them–but ones indicating a level of chaotic mismanagement. This Chief’s Desk blog is highly restorative that we are as safe and secure as ever. Also, it seems to invite people to participate in notifying police when things do not look right. I am personally grateful about Chief Fitzgerald stepping into the bright-light of accessibility and am notifying my neighbors about the site. God bless us all, and esp. our FR’s love, m.
