Brentwood Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald reported on the police department blog Wednesday that several cars were “ransacked” over the weekend east of Brentwood Boulevard, from Salem Road to Pine Avenue. Loose change, sunglasses, and personal items were taken.

All of the cars were unlocked, he said.

“If you lock your car, you greatly reduce the chances of being a victim of this crime,” Fitzgerald said.

  1. Were the cars on the street, or in the driveways? Not that this should really matter–I would just like to know how bold these thieving losers are. Brentwood is such a tight knit community that even unusual or suspicious cars in an area are usually checked out.
