Nathan L. Jackson, 43, of St. Louis, has been charged with forgery after confessing to cashing a forged check for $471.08 at the Walmart store in Maplewood, according to police and court records.
Jackson said he had received the check from an unknown woman, introduced to him by a female friend of his, who had offered him an opportunity to make money.
He said when he received the check “he instantly knew that it was fake,” according to the police report. He provided his friend with $150 of the proceeds and kept the rest.
The incident occurred on Nov. 19, 2014; he was charged on Feb. 19, 2016. He was held on a $7,500 bond.
