Church’s Chicken on the Delmar Divide

Church’s Chicken recently released a short documentary called “Church’s Loves St. Louis.” From a press release from Church’s Chicken: “In hopes of combating the growing division across the nation, Church’s visited St. Louis to learn more about how the locals are working toward a better community.”

Church’s says most metropolitan areas have a geographical split between different socioeconomic groups. In St. Louis, it’s Delmar Boulevard, the film points out. “By using local community leaders we can begin making strides toward unifying as a community and a nation. That is what Church’s aimed to accomplish with this film.”

Though Church’s sponsored this film, mentions of Church’s are a minimum.

  1. Thank you, Doug, for posting this. I have recently heard great things about Mission St Louis, and Church’s has great okra (was sorry they moved out of Maplewood). What a positive film; it helps me to keep on keepin’ on. Isn’t it strange that something (our skin) not a single one of us chose could be the basis for exclusion, discrimination, harrassment, etc? It boggles the mind. Thank you again.

  2. This is great! Mission: St. Louis and Josh Wilson are doing great things in the city to help defeat the racial divide and the problems facing our young men. I’m glad to see them highlighted in the video.
