Couple’s argument, Maplewood Commons thefts: Last weekend

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, May 3

  • Police responded to the parking lot of a Maplewood Commons business for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police located the vehicle, and found it was occupied by a  34-year-old woman. Officers discovered she had drug paraphernalia, and at she was arrested.
  • While police were handling a call for service in the 2500 block of Bellevue, an officer heard several subjects screaming near the intersection of Bellevue and Lyndover.  When the officer went to the area, two men ran from the intersection. A woman at the scene said she was assaulted by one of the male subjects who was a family member.  While canvassing the area, police located one of the two men who fled.  He was found to have a controlled substance and subsequently he was arrested. Police were unable to locate the subject who assaulted the family member.  Approximately an hour later police received a call that the male subject had returned. When police arrived, he again ran from the scene.  Officers canvassed the area and found him behind a building in the 7100 block of Lyndover. The 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest by flight.

Sunday, May 4

  • Police arrested a 38-year-old man for  shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested three women, ages 18 to 36, for stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police responded to the 7500 block of Manchester for a reported disturbance. Police made contact with a man and woman who said they were arguing over relationship matters.  The man voluntarily left the premises for the evening.  No arrests were made or charges filed.
