Charles Ault, a 62-year Brentwood resident donated a map of Maddenville — part of Brentwood before it was called Brentwood — to the city at the Oct. 19 board of aldermen meeting.
“It shows all of the detail of what was the beginning, and then what became a small portion of the greater city of Brentwood,” he was quoted in 40 South News on Oct. 22. Ault said he always intended to hang it in his home, but could never figure out where to hang it.

The Brentwood Historical Society posted this detail of the map, and said it’s now hanging in the hallway in city hall.
