A reader asked about what he described as six or seven police cars and 15-20 officers at a house on Weaver Avenue Wednesday afternoon. He said some were in “tactical gear” and there were also K-9 units. County officers were involved too.
According to Maplewood police, a search warrant was conducted at a residence in the 7500 block of Weaver Avenue relating to a drug investigation. St. Louis County Tactical Operations assisted Maplewood officers. Charges are pending.
Update: According to Maplewood Police, there was an animal-related incident on Weaver, which was unrelated to the drug investigation.
So was it 7700 or 7500? And was it drugs or animals? I’m so confused.
The incident in the 7500 block of Weaver was not animal related.
I live across the street from it. It was animals not drugs. Last count I heard was 7 dogs and around 22 or more cats. House has been condemned.
The animal situation was in the 7700 block. The drug raid said 7500 block. Are these two different incidents or confusion with the address?
Hmmm good question. I’m thinking address confusion. We had fire trucks, cop cars, county animal trucks, lots of flashing lights and it went on for hours. But who knows maybe we DID have 2 major incidents on the same street!
