Brentwood girls basketball jumped to a 12-2 lead against Soldan Monday in the John Burroughs Girls Basketball Invitational, and never looked back, winning 54-22, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
It was Brentwood’s first game since beating Carnahan 83-29 on Dec. 12. They didn’t compete in holiday tournaments, due to some players being out of town.
Freshmen Marshelle Franklin and Nija Price led the Eagles with 18 and 13 points, respectively. Juniors Abby Harper and Sophia Rivera each added nine.

The win puts the Eagles at 4-0. Their next game is Wednesday against Roosevelt (2-3). The Eagles play Maplewood Richmond Heights (2-6) Feb. 6 at Brentwood.
