Around 30 volunteers from Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, and master gardeners and master naturalists gathered on Earth Day to weed and maintain the rain garden behind Mt. Calvary Church. The rain garden helps keep water out of the basements of nearby homes and also improves water quality, according to Deer Creek Alliance Project Manager Karla Wilson. Volunteers will be needed again at the rain garden on May 29 for planting.
